About e-Catalunya project

This portal was born on an initiative of the presidential department of the Catalan government (Departament de Presidència de la Generalitat de Catalunya) in an aim to provide the society with the structures required for a knowledge sharing platform for professionals of different sectors and also to make communications between the government and citizens much easier.
This portal is the result of the integration of free software tools, based on open software architecture (open source), and software developed by e-Catalunya team from Barcelona School of Informatics Computing laboratory (LCFIB) and department of software development (LSI), at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC).
